PICU CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
There is no greater pain than having a child who is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Kylee spent months at a time in the PICU at Mass General.
​
Stephanie and Mike (Ky's parents) faced financial hardships while they were in the PICU because they had to pay for things like hotels, parking, and food. During these extended stays they were still responsible for regular living expenses like mortgage, utilities, car payments, and insurance. All while still caring for their other children at home.
Often times one or both parents have to miss work while in the hospital. This adds another level of stress on top of worrying about their child. We want to help ease stress and worry where we can.
